After a 2-year hiatus, Mickey’s-Not-So Scary Halloween Party is back at Disney World! Canceled in 2020 and replaced by a different after-hours event in 2021, this fan favorite at the Magic Kingdom brings back rare characters, party-exclusive food and beverages, unique entertainment, merchandise, photo-ops, and trick-or-treating!
Character Meet and Greets
Guests at this year’s event can expect to meet Jack and Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas, a variety of princesses and princes, and other characters in their Halloween costumes. Characters and locations are subject to change, so guests should check the My Disney Experience app on party night for updated information.
Party Exclusive Treats
Disney World introduces themed food and beverages around Halloween, but they reserve some of those exclusive treats for party nights! This year’s sweet treats include the Not-So-Poison-Apple-Pie Milkshake, the Worms and Dirt Funnel Cake, and the Monster Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich. Guests will also find unique savory items like the Hades Hot Dog and the Spellbinding Fried Pie. Check out the Foodie Guide on the Disney Parks Blog for a complete list of seasonal and party-exclusive offerings.
Entertainment
The entertainment offerings are one of the unique aspects of the party. The Boo-to-You Parade begins with the Headless Horseman as he rides through the park. The parade is packed with everyone’s favorite classic characters and a Pirates of the Caribbean Float featuring Captain Jack Sparrow and Barbossa. A highlight for many is the Haunted Mansion portion of the parade, featuring ghostly dancers, butlers, the bride, and hitchhiking ghosts.
Guests are also treated to the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show starring the Sanderson Sisters and other Disney Villains. Many consider this to be the best entertainment of the night!
The Not-So-Spooky Spelltacular Fireworks show is only shown during the party and includes fireworks, lasers, and projections on Cinderella Castle. Hosted by Jack Skellington, this show takes Mickey and their friends through a haunted house where they encounter several spooky characters.
There are also several dance parties located throughout the park. The Disney Junior Jam features Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, Timon, and Vampirina. Mike Wazowski and Sulley host the Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Dance Ball in Tomorrowland. And this year, a new party featuring Disney’s Zombies is held at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe!
Photo-ops and Merchandise
Guests can be on the lookout for party-exclusive merchandise and a Photo Pass, including 3-D step-in photo backdrops. Guests will also receive a free “Halloween-themed 50th Anniversary celebration commemorative print” as a keepsake.
Trick-or-Treating
What Halloween party would be complete without a little trick-or-treating? Trick or treat stations are located throughout the park. Each guest—young and old—will receive a reusable treat bag to collect their goodies! Guests with allergies can request an allergy-friendly treat bag and collect tokens to exchange for allergy-friendly treats.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place on select nights through October 31st. Price varies by date. Reach out to your Fairytale Journeys travel advisor for pricing.
