Planning your first Universal trip? Choose Universal Orlando Resort in Florida or Universal Studios Hollywood in California. These are separate destinations with different tickets, hotels and attractions.
Orlando includes Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe, plus Volcano Bay water park and Universal CityWalk. Choose your must-do parks before comparing packages.
Include Epic Universe in your plans: This separate theme park needs time in your itinerary. Confirm your ticket includes it; the Hogwarts Express does not connect to Epic Universe.

Universal Studios Florida
Universal Studios Florida brings movies and stories to life, including Diagon Alley and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts. Choose attractions around your family’s interests and check height requirements before your visit.
Want to ride the Hogwarts Express between Diagon Alley here and Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure? You need Park-to-Park admission covering both parks. A one-park ticket will not cover that journey.
Universal Express is an optional way to use shorter queues at participating attractions; it does not replace park admission. Pass coverage, prices and availability vary by park and date. Ask your advisor to compare the total cost of your tickets, hotel and Express options.
Universal Islands of Adventure
Islands of Adventure combines Hogsmeade, Jurassic-themed adventures and family areas such as Seuss Landing. Check ride height requirements and plan breaks rather than trying to do every attraction in one day.
Where should you stay? Compare the full package price and benefits, not just the room rate. Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Portofino Bay Hotel include Universal Express Unlimited for participating attractions at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure with valid park admission. That hotel benefit does not include Epic Universe or Volcano Bay.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel offers a dedicated Epic Universe entrance with valid admission, but does not include Express Unlimited. Early Park Admission applies only to eligible parks and attractions on your dates; check current terms when booking.
Universal's Volcano Bay™
Water Theme Park
Volcano Bay is Universal Orlando’s water theme park, with slides, a wave pool and places to relax. Add a water-park day only if it fits your family’s interests and your travel dates, and confirm that your ticket includes admission.
Planning update — October 17, 2026: Universal lists a seasonal closure beginning October 26, 2026, with reopening currently planned on or before March 24, 2027. Dates can change; confirm the operating calendar before booking a trip that includes Volcano Bay.
Ask your advisor to compare a water-park ticket option with extra time in the theme parks or a hotel pool day.
Universal Studios Hollywood
Universal Studios Hollywood is in Southern California, not Orlando. Plan it as part of a California vacation, with its own admission and Express products. Orlando tickets and hotel benefits do not apply here.
First-time visitors should choose dates, consider accommodation and transportation, then compare standard admission with available Express options. Check attraction coverage and current terms rather than assuming Hollywood works like the Florida parks.
